Proximity Locking is a smart feature that automatically locks and unlocks your vehicle by sensing the location of your key fob. Forget fumbling for buttons—just walk up to your car to unlock it and walk away to lock it securely (for 2023+ models).

How the Approach to Unlocking Works

When you approach your vehicle with the smart key in your pocket or bag, the system detects it within 2 meters (6.5 feet). The doors on your side automatically unlock, and the door handles extend. Simply pull the handle to open the door. You'll see the hazard lights flash twice and the door mirrors unfold to confirm the vehicle is unlocked and the alarm is disarmed.

How Walk-Away Locking Works

Your vehicle will automatically lock itself when you leave. This happens under two conditions:

• After you have opened and closed the driver's door, and the smart key moves more than 2 meters away from the vehicle.
• If the key remains outside the vehicle for approximately 6 minutes.

The tailgate also locks automatically, ensuring your vehicle is fully secured.
