Understanding Adaptive Off-Road Cruise Control
How It Works
The system operates in two main modes to give you maximum control off-road:
1. Descent Control Mode
This mode helps manage your speed specifically on steep downhill sections.
2. Full Function Mode
This is the primary mode for general off-road driving. It offers different comfort settings that determine how aggressively the system accelerates and brakes to maintain a smooth and controlled ride over uneven ground.
Integration with Terrain Response
Adaptive Off-Road Cruise Control works seamlessly with the Terrain Response system. It automatically adjusts the vehicle's acceleration based on the selected driving mode:
- Grass, Gravel, Snow Mode: Applies very gentle acceleration for low-traction surfaces.
- Comfort Mode: Uses a more responsive acceleration rate for better performance.
The instrument panel will show helpful messages to ensure you are getting the most out of your Adaptive Off-Road Cruise Control system.
